Forté announces support for yEnc

We've been monitoring yEnc.org for several months. It's a technology that has taken Usenet by storm and we are happy to support it. We just didn't realize how fast it was going to catch on. Fortunately, the voice of our user community was loud and clear: "Add it right now!"

As a result, we've adjusted our Product Road Map and yEnc will be available in Agent 1.91. We expect Agent 1.91 to begin beta trials at the end of this week. If all goes well Agent 1.91 will be ready for download no later than March 15th.

We'd like to thank all the users who provided us with input on this decision. We'd also like to recognize Juergen Helbing for developing yEnc and initiating a grass roots movement to help companies (such as ours) do the right thing by supporting yEnc.

Forté prides itself in being responsive to user feedback. And we certainly received a great deal of feedback on yEnc in our recent survey. In the coming weeks we will publish results from our survey so everyone can feel the pulse of the Agent community.

Unfortunately, Free Agent users must wait for version 1.92 to get yEnc support. See our Product Road Map for details.

Regards,

The Forté Team
