In our Agent 1.9 User Survey we asked the Agent Community
whether we should translate Agent into languages other than English.
The response was overwhelming. 25% of our users requested another language with German being
the most common. But the really amazing part was that 33% of the users polled (nearly 1000 users)
were willing to participate in the process. See the full results of our
Translation Survey.
This could only happen on Usenet.
The icing on the cake is that independant groups within the Agent Community have already translated
Agent into German, French, Spanish, and Italian by extracting text resources from the Agent EXE!
This kind of initiative must be rewarded.
Currently, our Product Road Map shows translations as
part of Agent 2.1. We wanted to create a nice clean toolkit. However,
the Agent Community doesn't want to wait that long, so
Chris Beck is going to formalize the formation
of international collaboration teams and document the process for translating version 1.92 of
Agent and Free Agent.
Once again the Agent Community steers us in the right direction.
Regards,
The Forté Team
